What does a day in the life of a trainer look like?
- Early starts in line with the construction industry
- Meeting and greeting
- Supporting students
- Instructing in the classroom or demonstrating and evaluating practical skills. Often both throughout the day
- Administration tasks e.g. issue, mark, and provide feedback on assessments
- Work with other trainers to create new learning tasks and materials
- Maintain relationships with local industry and employers
- Stay current with industry practice.
What qualifications do I need to become a trainer?
- Certificate IV Training & Assessment (mandatory)
- Industry experience (3 –5 years is preferred)
- Technology familiarity such as reasonable computer skills, familiarity using the internet, ability to set up the audio-visual equipment in a classroom (can be learned).
